I do want to note how I am keeping track of my goal this year, so I can look back to see 1) what I have read, 2) what I thought of the books and 3) if this will help me get back into the joy of reading. As I have mentioned in my introductory post to The Reading Corner, I have been using Goodreads as my go-to book journal. It is a simple way to be involved in the literary community as well as save the titles currently and wanting to read. 🙂 (fyi- I am not sponsored or paid… I’ve had an account since 2013 and have been using this platform on an off over the years).
A more analytical method to keeping track of my progress is through a spreadsheet on my computer where I can document my own ratings and notes for the books I am reading. I came across a youtube video by Erin Smith, which I have included in this post, where she shows this beautiful reading journal she made and incorporated the CAWPILE system to rate what she has read, a system I have since applied to the spreadsheet. At the moment, I unfortunately don’t have the time or resources to make such an eye-catching journal, but I can still input the same data in digital form.
Anyway as for my reviews, those will be in future posts. For the time being, here is what I read so far:
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
- Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang
- On Fire Island by Jane L. Rosen
- A long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende
- I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
- The Bodyguard by Katherine Center
Until the next post <3
