My Top 5 Favorite YouTubers | 2024

In a way, I am writing this blog as a memory keeper for me to look back on, see the products I used to use (or maybe still do), the music I like, books I’ve read and the influencers I followed. Every now and then I will think about a certain year or moment in my life and try to recall what I was consuming, content-wise, and observe a rough evolution of what I found interesting. Below are some creators that I follow, in the year 2024, that I think create some quality content that provide substance and inspiration. Highly recommend checking their channels out (and future Devyn, maybe see what these individuals are up to). These aren’t in any particular order 🙂

1) Valerie Lin

As an artist myself, her work is so inspiring and her videos are calming and insightful. She has videos that are nice to play in the background, as she talks about philosophical topics as well as the day-to-day human experience. She is an incredibly talented painter, which makes one want to watch her videos, see what her methodology is to creating such rich artwork.

2) Pick Up Limes

This vegan food channel is so nice to watch. Do you remember Food Network and all the cooking shows (before the extreme competitions took over)… this reminds of that time. So many yummy dishes are made and Sadia does a great job in explaining the science behind including certain ingredients, making sure their viewers are provided with a well-balanced meal idea. It is a dream of mine to create content like this, the photography and videography, I really love.

3) Jonna Jinton

Based out of Sweden, Jonna is a painter, videographer, musician, jeweler, overall inspirational artist. Her videos are definitely quality over quantity as she posts maybe once a month. But the content is so high quality. If one is unable to travel or experience nature, Jonna takes you to the forests of Sweden through out the seasons and presents to you the beauty this world has to offer. I cannot explain well enough, you will just have to see for yourself.

4) Ciara O Doherty

Originally I came across Ciara over at the Try Channel, pre-pandemic and in the midst of 2020, she began posting videos on mixology. Whether one drinks or not, it was neat to hear the background behind popular bar drinks. Eventually her channel grew into a fashion-focused/vlog channel and I cannot be happier about it. Ciara has such a chic and classic style; and the fact she shares where to find these pieces, love it (although being in the US, and she in Ireland, there is some limitation).

1) Rajiv Surendra

Many millennials and fans of the movie Mean Girls will recognize this man. I came across Rajiv’s channel, I believe, through a video on calligraphy and remember seeing his face and realizing this actor was a big part of my growing up. Then as I explored more and more of his content, quickly grew to love his appreciation for traditional/old fashioned skills he shares online. This includes calligraphy, soap making, cleaning, but shared in an aesthetically cinematic way.
