Simple Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional, for a sweeter glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar (if using).
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low.
  3. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vinegar thickens and reduces by about half. The glaze should coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool. The glaze will thicken further as it cools.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
